WSO celebrates Keith Emerson and the Mighty Wurlitzer


In tribute to the late Keith Emerson WSO play works associated with ELP including Copland’s Hoedown, the Maple Leaf Rag and the Troika from Prokofiev’s Lt. Kijé. World premiere of new concerto for Mighty Wurlitzer and WSO by the hugely successful Sussex composer Paul Lewis, known to millions for his film and TV music including Woof!, Arthur of the Britons, Antiques Roadshow and Spongebob Squarepants’. This hugely enjoyable new work celebrates Worthing’s seaside legacy with snippets of well-known sea tunes as well as nostalgic references of Ivor Novello and Gothic Horror. With the amazing Richard Hills in control of the mighty Wurlitzer it promises to be an historic afternoon.
